Save the file as "steam_appid.txt" and place it in your game's folder. On my computer, the game folder is "~/USERNAME/Library/Application Supprt/Steam/SteamApps/common/Cities_Skylines/"Ĭreate a new text file (With textedit or other app), and simply put this in the file: "255710" (NO QUOTES). In my case, I was missing a file in my Game folder called steam_appid.txt I've written about the problem in this thread: This means you try to play, and it seemingly does nothing, whether launched from Steam or the Finder. OK, now for the solution for people who CANNOT LAUNCH the game. Verify your game cache (Right click or option-click the game in your library, go to properties, under the "Local Files" tab click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache") For game files if you go to your game library list and right click (insert mac equivalent) then go to properties > local content > browse local content those should be the game files. Turn off the steam overlay (Right click or option-click the game in your library, go to properties, under the general tab uncheck "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game") After being unable to play this game on a Mac since launch (and trying ALL of the advice people have given me), I am happy to report I have a solution!įirst of all, if you have a Mac and CAN launch the game (But have graphics issues), this solution is NOT FOR YOU.
